Sioux Falls, S.D. (KELO AM) - The South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) announced that the City of Sioux Falls public water system and the system’s operation specialists have been awarded a Drinking Water Certificate of Achievement Award.
The system’s operation specialists are Greg Anderson, Robert Gillespie, Deborah Callahan, Michael Lund, Thomas Brown, Charles Eastman, Trent Lubbers, Gavin Graverson, Gregory Schuler, Jeff Even, Verlyn Varns, Terry Schlotterback, Darin Freese, Matthew James, Victor Huber, Robert Montis, Bradley Maddox, Marty Banghart, Joseph Barber, Steven Boone, Jake Sees, Cody Moxley, Jon Voigt, Jason Wegehaupt, Jon Faris, Justin Sisson, Chris Fleming, Joshua Lewis, Rick Kruse, Rollin Tiggelaar, Darin McDonnel, Paul Dhoore, Michael O’Kane, Kevin Kulla, and Nicholas Lupkes.
“Water is always a precious commodity, but having water delivered into our homes suitable for drinking and all other household use is just awesome,” said DENR Secretary Steve Pirner. “DENR is proud to honor these drinking water systems and operation specialists who have kept the water flowing, safe, and in full compliance during the last year.”
To qualify for the Drinking Water Certificate of Achievement Award, public water systems and their operations specialists had to meet all of the following requirements for 2013:
• Compliance monitoring and reporting.
• Drinking water standards.
• Certification requirements.
