SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Democratic U-S Senate Candidate Rick Weiland has campaigned across South Dakota for a year and now knows he’ll face Republican Mike Rounds.
While Weiland suspected that Rounds wouid win, what he didn't know a year ago was that there would be two Independent candidates on the ballot in former U.S. Senator Larry Pressler and former state legislator Gordon Howies.
Last night Rounds called his campaign “grass roots” and Weiland responded with “grass roots effort, out-of-state, raises big money.”
Weiland says his campaign is hosting town hall meetings on the future of Medicare this month and invites Rounds to join him. The first forum is Friday in Madison at the 2nd Street Diner.
