Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) Downtown Sioux Falls, Inc. (DTSF) is pleased to announce that the downtown trolley will begin summer service this Friday, June 6th through Saturday, September 6th.
Trolley operations will be managed by Stellar Limousine, and the route and hours will remain the same. The downtown trolley will run Monday through Saturday, 10am-8pm, and riders can continue to board at any of the trolley stops located on Phillips Avenue, 8th & Railroad Center, Main Avenue and at Falls Park.
In order to maintain trolley operations this year, a $1.00 per rider fee will be implemented, with children 5 and under free of charge. The new rider charge is a one-time daily fee, which will help offset trolley operation costs.
Financial contributions have been received from Community Development and Planning. Funds have also been requested from the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, Sioux Falls Development Foundation and the Sioux Falls Convention & Visitors Bureau to keep the trolley operating through September 6, 2014 on the regular schedule.
