PIERRE, SD (KELO AM)  - Attorney General Marty Jackley has been elected to serve as President- Elect of the National Association of Attorneys General. The Association’s members are the Attorneys General of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealths of Puerto Rico and the Northern Mariana Islands, and the territories of American Samoa, Guam, and the Virgin Islands. Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood (D) is the current President and Connecticut Attorney General George Jepsen (D) was selected to serve as Vice President. The annual meeting was held this week in Michigan.

“I am honored to serve alongside my fellow State Attorneys General working to improve public safety and to protect consumers. I am grateful and recognize that I have this opportunity to serve as the National President-Elect because of the South Dakota Attorney General Office’s strong reputation earned by our previous Attorneys General and the dedicated men and women in our office. Serving in a leadership position in the National Association will further assist me in identifying and addressing issues that directly impact South Dakota,” said Jackley.
