The following street projects are set to begin next week in and around Sioux Falls:
Six Mile Road ConstructionBeginning on Monday, June 9, 2014, Six Mile road between Tenth Street and Highway 42 will be closed. Construction crews will be installing a water main. Motorists should use Powderhouse Road as an alternate route. Traffic on Tenth Street and Highway 42 will not be affected by this work.
Work is expected to be completed in 4 to 5 weeks.

Sycamore Avenue ClosureBeginning on Monday, June 9, 2014, Sycamore Avenue will be closed from 57th Street to 69th Street to allow construction crews to begin work on the first phase of this two-year project. Work in 2014 will include grading, installation of underground utilities, and replacement of the gravel surfacing. Motorists should use either Southeastern Avenue or Highway 11 as alternate routes.
The completion date for this phase of the project is October 2014.
A separate project will be bid in early 2015 to install curb and gutter, sidewalks, and asphalt surfacing during the summer of 2015.

Lane Closure – 41st StreetAt 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening, June 9, 2014, the outside westbound lane on 41st Street will be closed east of Kiwanis Avenue. Westbound traffic will use the inside westbound lane.
Telcom will be installing fiber optic cable. The work is anticipated to be finished by 6:00 a.m. on June 10, 2014.

Lane Closures – Sixth Street and Dakota AvenueAt 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, June 11, 2014, the outside westbound lane on Sixth Street will be closed between Phillips Avenue and Dakota Avenue. Westbound traffic will use the inside westbound lane.
Dakota Avenue will also be closed to through traffic between Sixth Street and Main Avenue. Access will be provided to local traffic.
Xcel Energy will be installing new utilities. The work is anticipated to be finished by the evening of June 12, 2014.

Kiwanis Avenue ConstructionBeginning Thursday, June 12, 2014, construction crews will be performing street work on Kiwanis Avenue between West 31st Street and West 33rd Street. Traffic will be shifted but will be maintained in both directions at all times.
This work is anticipated to be complete in approximately 1 week.

Lane Closures – Cliff AvenueOn Monday morning, June 9, 2014, both southbound lanes on Cliff Avenue will be closed north of First Street. Southbound traffic will use the center turn lane.
The City of Sioux Falls Public Works Department will be repairing a water valve. The work is anticipated to be finished by the evening of June 9, 2014.

Street Closure – Grange AvenueOn Thursday morning, June 12, 2014, Grange Avenue will be closed to through traffic between 18th Street and 20th Street. Traffic will be detoured to West Avenue.
Henry Carlson Company will be constructing a pedestrian bridge. The work is anticipated to be finished by the evening of July 11, 2014.

Lane Closure – Louise AvenueOn Monday morning, June 9, 2014, the outside southbound lane on Louise Avenue will be closed at 34th Street. The closure will shift south to 41st Street as work progresses. Southbound traffic will use the inside southbound lane.
Xcel Energy will be performing utility work. The work is anticipated to be finished by the evening of June 20, 2014.

Lane Closures – 41st StreetAt 8:30 a.m. on Monday morning, June 9, 2014, the outside and center eastbound lanes on 41st Street will be closed east of Empire Place. Eastbound traffic will use the inside eastbound lane.
Xcel Energy will be performing utility work. The work is anticipated to be finished by 11:30 a.m. on June 9, 2014.
