Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - National Weather Service forecasters are putting southeastern South Dakota on alert for severe weather Saturday night. Phil Schumacher of the NWS says the biggest threat will be large hail and strong winds; however tornadoes are not out of the question at this time.
Schumacher said a strong front moving across the state combined with the jet stream pattern is what will fuel the storms. The same front caused several thunderstorms and even a few tornado warnings from eastern Montana in to western South Dakota on Friday night.
