Most crimes in Sioux Falls went down last year

Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) Most major crimes went down in Sioux Falls last year compared to 2012, according to Police Lt. Loren McManus.

Lt. McManus says burgleries, robberies, homicides, rapes, and aggravated assaults were all down in 2013. He says the biggest spike was in meth busts. About 9,200 grams were seized last year, compared to about 1,800 the year before.

Sioux Falls crime statistics feed into the state statistics.  Overall crime was up 1% in South Dakota in 2013 from the year before. The biggest increase was in drug crimes.
