SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls Fire Rescue carried out a water rescue last night on the Big Sioux River near I-229 and Louise Avenue on a passerby’s report of a boy possibly in the water.
Fire/Rescue Chief Jim Sideras says crews searched the river for two hours using thermal imaging cameras and did not find a thing.
The passerby saw a boy throwing rocks into the river along I-229 just west of the Louise Avenue off ramp. The passerby looked back to see if the child was okay and the boy was gone.
Sideras says two water rescue teams went to the scene.
