SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Three years ago the number of suicides in the Sioux Falls area was at its highest level in a decade.
Susan Kroger says the HelpLine Center offers prevention and aftercare services. She says the HelpLine Center has been South Dakota's leader in for those services for over 30 years.
Kroger says everyone can step forward and make a difference. She says there's help and hope by raising awareness about suicide and funding prevention programs.
Suicide is the second leading cause of death among teens and young adults in South Dakota.
The “Step Forward to Prevent Suicide” run-walk is tomorrow morning at nine at Falls Park. Registration opens at 8:30 and the run is a 5K.
