Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) Hy-Vee workers from all the stores in Sioux Falls came to the Great Plains Zoo on Tuesday to present zoo officials a giant check for $100,000.
Zoo President Elizabeth Whealy says it was a hefty check and they're thankful for it. She says it's part of Hy-Vee's continuing interest in the zoo. In 2009, Hy-vee donated $250,000.
Whealy says the grocery chain's committment is the kind of investment that helps build a 'world class' zoo.
