SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Independent candidate for U.S. Senate in South Dakota Larry Pressler says Obamacare needs fixing, not repealing.

Pressler says it’s irresponsible to cry repeal and not say what the consequences will be.

He says if Romney would have won, the health care law would have been dubbed Romneycare and the Democrats would be against it.  He says Washington D.C. is mired in the political games of the country's largest partys.

As an Independent, Pressler says, he could caucus with the Democrats, Republicans or Independents.  And, he says, he's not getting huge amounts of money from out-of-state interests so he would not have to cater to special interests if elected.

Pressler faces Democrat Rick Weiland, Republican Mike Rounds and Independent Gordon Howie in November.

Pressler was on the Greg Belfrage Show on KELO Radio this morning.
