SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Minnehaha County Commission today issued a disaster declaration for almost $1.3 million in damages to infrastructure caused by June storms.
County Emergency Manager Lynn DeYoung says the request goes to Pierre to be bundled with other counties for a federal disaster declaration.
DeYoung says damage estimates are for township and county infrastructure.
DeYoung says the largest damage assessment is $400,000 to the dam at Split Rock Park at Garretson.
The vote by the Commission to declare a disaster was unanimous.
