SIOUX FALS, SD (KELO-AM) Sioux Falls will be featured on CNN’s Fareed Zakaria GPS this Sunday, July 6, 2014, at 9 a.m. and 12 noon Central time. Sioux Falls is the second city featured in a new five-part series called “Where America Works.” According to the CNN website, “Washington, D.C., may be broken, but intractable problems are being solved in towns across America.” Sioux Falls was selected by CNN as one of five such towns all across America.
The City of Sioux Falls hosted a producer and photojournalist from CNN in December. During their visit, CNN interviewed Mayor Mike Huether and others, toured the city, and were interested in how government was getting results.
“CNN’s segment this weekend will be an incredible way to showcase the great things happening in our city to a worldwide audience,” says Mayor Mike Huether. “We are honored to be one of only five cities chosen to get governments across the United States working again.”
The City of Sioux Falls is planning to host a news conference on Monday, July 7, at 1 p.m. to provide a response to the feature. The news conference will take place in the Commission Room at City Hall, 224 West Ninth Street.
Fareed Zakaria GPS is a weekly global affairs program that airs on Sundays on CNN and CNN International. Fareed Zakaria, the show host, is also a Washington Post columnist and a New York Times bestselling author.
