SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - House movers are placing the Home for Austin in Tea this afternoon.
Spokeswoman Jessica Peterson says students from Lennox and Tea built the handicap-accessible home for Austin Schoppert-Coffee who lost his limbs to meningitis before his third birthday.
Austin and his mother will live in the home that will allow Austin to take a shower, turn on the lights, close doors and enjoy the many functions most take for granted.
Individuals, businesses, friends and area students have banded together to raise money, donate materials and labor to build Austin a home.
A final fundraiser, “The Mettle Run,” a 5K and fun/walk run is Saturday morning in Tea at the City Park
