SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - It may seem that there are more car-bicycle accidents this summer in Sioux Falls but police say the numbers so far mirror last year.
Officer Sam Clemens says the easiest way to prevent collisions is for motorists to look both ways. He says had drivers in the last two vehicle-bike accidents looked both ways, and paid closer attention to driving, the accidents may have been prevented.
He says the 88-year-old female motorist from Sioux Falls in yesterday's injury-accident was cited for not exercising due caution before hitting the bicyclist. That's a city ordinance.
Clemens says the investigation of last week’s fatal car-bicycle accident continues and has not been turned over to the Minnehaha County State's Attorney..
