SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls Public Works is taking bids today for stump grinding contracts in the wake of last April’s ice storm.
Director Mark Cotter says the city is split in four zones and contractors can bid on one or all four.
Cotter says the city will notify residents when grinding will begin and who the contractors are.
He says probably by the end of the final quarter all the grinding of the tree branches will be complete, all the stumps will be ground and ultimately the city will have the ice storm as a key part of Sioux Falls history.
Cotter says, to date, the city alone has ground 45,000 tons of tree branches.
