SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Emphasizing the importance of a great start to a new school year, a free Back-to-School Fair is Saturday at the Coliseum in downtown Sioux Falls.
Prairie View Prevention Services Director Darcy Jensen says the fair serves as a way to help parents and children start a successful school year.
Jensen calls the fair a one-stop-shop. She says it includes paperwork for bus routes, eye and ear screenings, answers to any questions about school, private and public, from around the Sioux Empire. There's also a free sock and underwear giveaway for the kids.
Jensen says parents must be with their children.
Celebrating Families is tomorrow from ten to one at the Coliseum on North Main. A free lunch will be served at eleven.
The event is sponsored by the Coalition for a Drug-free South Dakota, Dakota Drug and Alcohol and Prairie View Prevention Services.
