SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Neighbors and city official opened a renovated Lyon Park in downtown Sioux Falls today with a ribbon cutting.
Katrina Lehr-McKinney with the All Saints Neighborhood Association thanked her neighbors who live around the park. She says the city and contractors took neighbor recommendations and ideas and incorporated them into the park
The park’s renovation cost $360,000. Improvements include an irrigation system, new historic lighting, picnic shelter, swings, playground and accessible pathways to all parts of the park.
Woodwork on the picnic shelter resembles the architecture of the old Lyon House which sat at 14th and Phillips.
The All Saints Neighborhood is holding a public celebration in Lyon Park on Sunday, October 5th.
