SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Over 50 authors, ten from Sioux Falls, are in town for this weekend's South Dakota Festival of Books.

Ryan Woodard, with the South Dakota Humanities Council, says area authors include Chris Browne, who draws the comic strip "Hagar the Horrible," South Dakota Poet Laureate David Allen Evens and Tom Roberts, author of the children's Christmas books benefiting Children's Home Society.

As far as picking regional and national authors, Woodard says that's based on the Council's gauging of what kind of books people are interested in and what kind of books are popular right now.
