SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The competition is fierce heading into tonight’s first ever ChiliFest benefiting the Banquet’s “Supply Our Students” school supply program.
Madeline Shields with the Banquet says 6,500 students benefited from the recent effort and now is the time to buy supplies from local stores.
She says retailers are devoting more shelf space to the holidays and want to make room by discounting school supplies so every dollar donated goes farther.
The Banquet’s ChiliFest, featuring a dozen professional and amateur competitors, is tonight at Cliff Avenue Greenhouse on East 26th Street. Tickets are $20.
