SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls police invite Whittier neighborhood residents to “Walk a Block With a Cop” tomorrow and Friday nights.
Captain Rich Miller says it’s important for officers to have face-to-face contact with citizens.
Miller says officers will hear first hand issues that residents have in their neighborhood and they can offer a solution or, with time, a course of action. He says any city issue is game as well for the officers, not just law enforcement.
If you want to walk with a cop or have a cop stop at your house, call Sargeant Candace Gearman at 978-6651.
Miller says since the alcohol ban at Tower and Van Epps Parks, Sioux Falls police have been called four times for violations.
He says two citations were issued and two calls were for a man down. Miller says all calls were at Van Epps.
