Sioux Falls, SD - October 16, 2014 - Cinema Falls launches its first ever animation showcase with an all ages event at the West Mall 7 this Saturday, October 18th with two unique animated programs. HIghlighting the event will be the arrival of Minkyu Lee from Los Angeles, CA who was nominated for an Oscar for his animated film short ADAM AND DOG and worked for Walt Disney Studios as an animator for Princess and the Frog and Winnie the Pooh. He later became a character designer for one of the top five box office-grossing films in the world, FROZEN. He also worked as a designer for WRECK-IT RALPH. His program begins at 4:30pm on Saturday, October 18th at the West Mall 7.

Also attending the Animation Showcase event will be Julie Mata, Disney-Hyperion author and former Sioux Falls resident and KSFY television reporter. Her KATE WALDEN DIRECTS books series launched in 2014 and book two is slated for a February release. The book features a middle school girl who wants to be a filmmaker. Mata will be speaking and presenting at the Sioux Falls Challenge Center to 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders at 1PM on Friday, October 17th as well as part of the Cinema Falls Film Camp. She will briefly speak prior to the 2:30PM film event. Her professional website is: http://www.juliemata.com and Zandbroz will be selling her books in the West Mall 7 lobby area for her to sign.

The animation showcase features 22 films from 10 countries, including the animated short winner of the 2014 Student Oscar.

"These films are the best films curated from international animation festivals," according to Cinema Falls founder, Julie Anderson Friesen. "Not all films are created to sell lunchboxes and Halloween costumes and toy giveaways. This is a chance for people of all ages to share some short films that are artistic, innovative, and fun - and they are unforgettably unique."

Tickets are $7 for the first program and $10 for the program with Minkyu Lee, although an All Access Pass is only $15 and includes a special pass featuring cartoon art. Tickets can be found at www.CinemaFalls.com and there will also be tickets sold at the door.

Sponsors for this event include Pomegranate Market, CLICK RAIN, Adwerks and Child's Play Toys. Cinema Falls commend these businesses for supporting quality programming for people of all ages to enjoy.
