SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Sioux Falls Stampede look to score a win tonight against Cedar Rapids but the Herd is playing for a higher calling: backing the fight against breast cancer.
The Voice of the Stampede, Jim Olander, says tonight’s game is “Pink in the Rink Night” by Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital. Olander says the ice in the Denny Sanford Premier Center has been painted pink and the players will wear special pink jerseys.The jerseys will be raffled off. Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10.
A portion of the ticket and raffle sales will benefit the American Cancer Society.
Breast cancer deaths are the second leading cause of cancer death of American women.
