SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - It’s rare when the coroner calls for an autopsy in an unattended death in Sioux Falls but that’s what happened yesterday morning.
Officer Sam Clemens says police were called to an apartment in the 500 block of South Western Avenue where they found the body of 39-year-old woman.
Clemens says the Minnehaha County coroner will determine if the case is a homicide or if there were other issues that detectives don't know about.
He says investigators are waiting for the autopsy result to determine if the case is anything other that an unattended death.
Clemens says detectives felt that some things at the scene seemed out of the ordinary.
