SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Fall police issued 1,037 snow alert tickets in the last storm.
Officer Sam Clemens says that’s about 200 fewer tickets than the last storm.
Clemens says contrary to popular belief, police don't enjoy writing snow citations and they wish the number of offenders would diminish. But, he says, officers understand the need for clean, wide streets for the public and emergency responders.
Clemens says there are a variety of ways to be notified when a snow alert is issued. Go to the city's website signup or learn more about snow alert notifiers.
