SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police harvested the thirty deer under a management plan to reduce the herd in southeast Sioux Falls.
Lieutenant Troy Bensen says most everyone was happy about the lethal reduction.
Bensen says property damage has been extensive and deer-car collisions have produced $200,000 in damage
Benson says the goal is to manage the health of the herd and some of the deer taken showed signs of disease.
He says deer counts with Game, Fish and Parks will determine future thining.
