SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Highway Patrol used spike strips last night to stop a rural Valley Springs man suspected of driving under the influence.

Sergeant Jason Gearman, with the Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office, says Changes and Choices Treament Center in Sioux Falls called authorities after 40-year-old Trevor Quincey left their facility under the influence.

Gearman says deputies and Brandon Valley police tried stopping a vehicle driven by Quincey as he went through Brandon.

Quincey drove east out of Brandon and after almost a half-hour of not stopping, the spike strips punctured two his car’s tires.

Quincey is charged with 3rd offense DWI, eluding law enforcement, possession of a controlled substance and marijuana and paraphernalia.
