SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A Louisiana man was arrested last night at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls for trying to get prescription medicine under a false name.
Officer Sam Clemens says 60-year-old Jessi Ray Mayeaux told doctors he had chest pains and listed the medicines he is allergic to.
Doctors told Mayeaux that they couldn't help him. Clemens says that's when he specifically asked for a schedule 2 drug, which are classified as addicting.
Mayeaux asked for dilaudid and was charged with obtaining a controlled substance by deception. Dilauded is an opioid.
