SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Each year Sioux Falls welcomes close to 400 refugees through the Department of State and Lutheran Social Services.
Director of the Center for New Americans, Tim Jurgens, says the Annual Taste of Cultures April 18th is a fundraiser. Jurgens says the funds stay in Sioux Falls and help refugees with food, daycare, rent or utlility bills.
Jurgens says food from around the world will be served, traditional music and dances will be performed and raffle prizes inlcluding original artwork will be offered.

Jurgens says L-S-S helps refugees become acclimated and self-sufficient in their new country.
