Grants awarded for SF workforce development

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The City of Sioux Falls is awarding $440,000 grants to eight groups to meet workforce needs.

City Councilor Michelle Erpenbach says it’s the City’s duty to do more.  Erpenbach says the intent is to award funding to eight local entities well-positioned to address workforce development needs in Sioux Falls.          

The top three grant winners are Globe University, Southeast Technical Institute and the Multi-Cultural Center.

The City received 38 applications requesting a total of close to $2 million.  An evaluation Committee and the City Attorney's Office reviewed each application.
