SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Senator John Thune says the Trade Promotion Authority Act will allow the United States to negotiate several important trade deals.
Thune says that includes impending deals with Asian, Canadian and European trading partners.
Thune says that since 2009, increasing exports have accounted for 1.6 million new jobs in the United States and those jobs, epecially in the manufacturing sector, pay well.
Thune says in South Dakota alone exports support 15,000 jobs.
He hopes the legislation will be on the Senate floor in a few weeks.
