SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police made an arrest yesterday in the stabbing death of Daniel Eastman almost five years ago in downtown Sioux Falls.
Captain Blaine Larsen says 33-year-old Sadie Gwendolyn Red Bear, a transient, is charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault.
Larsen credits the work of Detectives Webb and Mertes for taking a second look at the case that at one point was dormant. He says the detectives worked on the case tirelessly even during off hours.
Eastman survived 90 days before succumbing to his wounds and was not cooperative with detectives. He was found bleeding in an alley off the 600 block of South Main Avenue on August 19, 2011. He was stabbed in the chest and stomach.
