SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls Animal Control euthanized two pit bulls yesterday after they got into a fight with one another and their owner suffered bite wounds trying to separate them.
Captain Greg Van deKamp says the owner told authorities that the two dogs had become increasingly more violent in their fights.
Van deKamp says the 24-year-old male owner was treated for his injuries and released. He says the owner tried seperating the dogs and received multiple puncture wounds and lacerations. he says both dogs inflicted substantial injuries on each other.
Van deKamp says when Animal Control arrived both dogs had retreated from the fight.
He says the owner voluntarily signed both dogs over to Animal Control due to their vicious nature.
