SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Nonprofits, schools, libraries and local governments serve free meals to children 18 and younger through the summer food program.

Sandra Kangas with the South Dakota Department of Education says the priority is to help families who are food insecure.

Kangas says any child can go to any of the public places serving a meal, they don't ask about income or family size.  The Summer Food Service Program provides food to students when school is not in session

The Summer Meal Site Finder is available on the U-S Department of Agriculture’s website.  It provides the locations of all summer food sites.
