SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The latest climate outlook for July is for wetter and cooler conditions for most of South Dakota.
Forecaster Todd Heitkamp says it won’t be much different than June.
Heitkamp says it doesn't look like there will be an extended heat spell anytime soon. He says given the position of the jet stream the forecast of rain every three days appears to be holding too.
Heitkamp says El Nino, the warming of the ocean current off South America means a dry western United States, but a cooler and wetter Midwest.
