Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls Police are investigating a home invasion robbery that sent one of the intruders to the hospital. SFPD Sergeant Shaun Olson say they got the call to an apartment at 4800 South Louise around four Sunday morning.
The residents told the officers that numerous armed persons had forced their way into their home. As the residents barricaded themselves in a bedroom, they told the intruders that the police had been called. Several of the subjects left and as the residents left the bedroom, a fight started with two of the remaining intruders. During the melee, one of the suspects was stabbed and cut repeatedly by one of the residents of the apartment. The residents managed to drag the juvenile suspect outside, barricaded their front door, and waited for the police to arrive. The juvenile was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. SGT Olson says the investigation is ongoing.
