SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Joint Committee on Appropriations reviews the June storm damage to the Capitol in Pierre today.
Republican State Senator Deb Peters of Hartford says the storm blew bronze pieces off the roof.
Peters says the good news is that state office buildings were put under a new insurance policy two weeks prior to the storm hitting Pierre. She says the Capitol is a historical, public building so it will cost taxpayer dollars to make the repairs.
Peters says the Committee will examine how the new insurance policy for state buildings is going to work.
