Severe Weather Pattern

Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) - It's a pattern we are more used to seeing in June according to National Weather Service forecaster Kari Hanko. Short waves of ingredients leading to severe weather across the midwest. Last night was no exeception, with storm reports from the North Dakota border into southeast South Dakota, Northwest Iowa and Southwest Minnesota. While no major damage was reported locally, several tornado warnings were issued....one in the Aberdeen area around Leola, another later in Lake County, near Madison. Hanko adds rainfall totals ranged from near four inches near Lake Preston, to around one to two inches in the Sioux Falls area. She says the next round of severe weather is possible Monday evening in the Highway 14 area and southeast South Dakota, Northwest Iowa and Southwest Minnesota. Mian threats will be high winds and hail.
