SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A Sioux Falls woman faces a felony charge of child endangerment after fleeing the scene of a car accident while intoxicated Tuesday afternoon.

Officer Sam Clemens says 23 year old Elizabeth Andrea Peters of Sioux Falls is accused of running a stop sign at the intersection of East 8th Street and French Avenue and hitting a car driven by a 48 year old woman from Rock Rapids, Iowa.

Clemens says there was a five year old girl in the back seat of Peters’ car.  An officer discovered the car parked in an open garage on North French not far from the accident.  Clemens says Peters' preliminary breath test was .306%, over three times the legal limit of .08%.

Clemens says Peters is also charged with D-W-I, hit-and-run and no insurance.
