SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A committee is picked and a professional facilitator will guide it in reviewing the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau two dollar a night tax on rented hotel rooms.
Director of Finance Tracy Turbak says the tax is five years old; revenues have nearly doubled and now is the time to evaluate how the money can be best utilized.
Turbak says its time to consider if there are any other ideas out there deserving of some consideration. He says maybe the answer to that is no, maybe everything the CVB is doing today is as it should be, and is being optimized.
Turbak says the goal is to continue growing and developing Sioux Falls’ visitor industry.
It will be up to the facilitator, Sumption & Wayland, to get the committee up and running.
