SIOUX FALLS (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a house fire at 1914 N. Richard Place. A resident noticed smoke in the house and called 911.
Fire units arrived to find smoke and flames throughout the house. Fire crews extinguished the fire in approximately 20 minutes. The residents were home at the time of the fire and were evacuating the house upon arrival of the fire crews. The home suffered severe fire and smoke damage. The house is uninhabitable due to the fire and the residents are being assisted by the Red Cross.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 3 support vehicles, 7 fire trucks, and 28 firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was assisted by Brandon Fire Department, Paramedics Plus Ambulance, Mid-American Energy, Xcel Energy, Red Cross, and City of Sioux Falls Police Department.
