SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Blame last month’s heavy rains on an uptick in mosquitos this month.
Denise Patton with the Health Department says crews will spray for mosquito control tonight in targeted areas.
Patton says there's not one area of town that's seeing more mosquitoes but some parts across the city are seeing more activity. She says the Health Department is trying to determine where the mosquitos are most comfortable and spray efforts will focus on those areas.
Tonight’s spray will target parts of north central Sioux Falls.
Patton advises staying indoors during sunrise and sunset when the blood suckers are more active and wear a bug reppellent on exposed skin.
She says the bugs won't slow until there's a freeze.
