Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) A coalition of community leaders in Sioux Falls on Wednesday unveiled an action agenda to deal with what some experts call a need for workers that has reached crisis proportions.

Forward Sioux Falls and the City of Sioux Falls engaged Market Street Services to facilitate a six-month process to assess where the Sioux Falls region is now in terms of workforce development and what tangible actions can be taken to address the challenge.

Augustana University President Rob Oliver is co-chair of the Workforce Strategy Task Force.  Oliver says the biggest opportunity is to create a "cradle to career" coalition that would include talent development beginning in the early school grades and talent atttaction from outside Sioux Falls.

Oliver says the action plan is designed to create a pipeline of trained talent now and in the future.
