Sioux Falls Road Work This Week

Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) – Here is the scheduled road and utility work in Sioux Falls for this week:

 

Street Closure – South Holly Avenue

Beginning on Monday morning, September 21, 2015, South Holly Avenue will be closed to the North of West 41st Street for approximately 100 feet. A detour will be established utilizing Kiwanis Avenue and 39th Street.

Soukup Construction will be performing utility work, which is anticipated to be complete by the end of the day on September 25, 2015.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

 

Street Closure – South Dakota Avenue

Beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Monday morning, September 21, 2015, South Dakota Avenue will be closed to the South of West 31st Street for approximately 200 feet. A detour will be established utilizing Center Avenue and 33rd Street.

Soukup Construction will be performing utility work, which is anticipated to be complete by the end of the day on September 25, 2015.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

 

85th Street and Audie Avenue Construction

Beginning on Monday, September 21, 2015, 85th Street traffic will be shifted to the south side of the 85th Street median between Audie Avenue and Minnesota Avenue to allow construction crews to construct turn lanes and perform road repairs on the north side of the 85th Street median. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times. Additionally, Audie Avenue at 85th Street will also be closed as part of this work. Drivers should remain alert to changing road conditions and slowed or stopped traffic near the work zone.

This work is expected to be complete in approximately two to three weeks.

57th Street Construction

Beginning on Monday, September 21, 2015, 57th Street will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction between Old Yankton Road and Old Yankton Circle to allow construction crews to perform concrete repairs. During rush hours two lanes will be provided for traffic in the peak direction. The closure will alternate between the eastbound and westbound lanes throughout the week. Drivers should remain alert to changing road conditions and slowed or stopped traffic near the work zone.

This work is expected to be complete in approximately five days.

Various Bridge Lane Closures

Various lanes will be closed next week beginning on Monday, September 21, 2015, to allow for inspection of City bridges.

Monday, September 21, lanes will be reduced on the North Drive bridges between Main Avenue and Fourth Avenue.

Tuesday, September 22, lanes will be reduced on the Minnesota Avenue bridge south of I-229 and the Cliff Avenue bridge north of Walnut Street.

Wednesday, September 23, lanes will be reduced on the 57th Street bridge west on Southeastern Avenue, the 69th Street bridge east of Charger Avenue and the 26th Street bridge east of I-229.

Thursday, September 24, lanes will be reduced on the 12th Street bridge east of Lyons Avenue.

Lanes will be closed from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., but traffic will be maintained in both directions at all times.
