SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - State education officials say student performance on English language arts and math tests was better than expected.
Secretary of Education Dr. Melody Schopp says every grade level tested above the benchmark for proficiency.
Student performance is a part of the 2015 Report Card on South Dakota schools which will be released tomorrow.
Dr. Schopp says the online tests were a more rigorous and meaningful assessment.
Schopp says the results validate the significant time and energy teachers, school districts and the state have invested in moving to new standards.
