SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The tills didn’t match up for two Sioux Falls’ bars earlier this week and that’s how they found out someone cashed altered video lottery tickets.

Officer Sam Clemens says the winning $100 tickets were altered as $600 winners.

Clemens says investigators aren't sure how the suspects altered the tickets.  He says they may have scanned them and altered them on a computer then printed them.  He says they may have gone old school and used a pen or pencil to make them bigger winners.

Clemens can't say the incidents are related but altered video lottery tickets are rare so when two pop up in a short time investigators tend to look at similarities.

Clemens says the tickets were passed at the 18th Amendment and T-C’s Referee.
