SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Sioux Falls School Board today reviews math and reading results from the first ever Smarter Balanced Test that students took last spring.
Board President Kent Alberty says there’s some concern over the scores of fourth and fifth graders.
Alberty says that's not an indictment against the fourth and fifth grade teachers but instead it's an issue of preparedness. He says the school board will have to look at better preparing the students.
Overall, however, Sioux Falls students outperformed their peers statewide.
