SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - When Austin Johnson fled in an Explorer after allegedly stealing cash from an event at Nickel Spot early Sunday morning a woman tried stopping him by jumping on the floorboards.
Officer Sam Clemens says 23-year-old Johnson drove the vehicle into a power pole.
The woman, who is pregnant, suffered a broken arm and leg. Clemens says the unborn child was not injured and the woman's injuries aren't considered life-threatening.
Johnson is charged with aggravated assault, vehicular battery, DWI, felony hit and run and petty theft.
