SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Lincoln High School marching band finished third out of twenty-four bands in their class competing last weekend in St. Louis.
Director Dan Carlson says the Bands of America competition is the second largest in the nation with 63 bands and only 14 make the finals. He says this was the largest competition that he's been a part of and it was the largest audience the students had played for with the exception of the seniors who marched in the Tournament of Roses Parade four years ago.
Carlson says the staff will meet at the end of next month and start the process for next fall’s competition.
The LHS annual Marching Band’s chicken dinner fundraiser is November 3rd and 5th.
