SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - There will be a snow alert in Sioux Falls sometime this afternoon.
Fleet Manager Gaylen Huber says plows won’t get into neighborhood streets until tonight. Snow alerts have been issued for Brandon, Harrisburg, Lennox, Worthing and Tea.
Heavy snow will taper off this afternoon in Sioux Falls says the National Weather Service. But Todd Heitkkamp says light snow won’t end until eight or nine tonight.
And then, colder air follows with overnight lows below the mid-teens.
Heitkamp says another system is expected Wednesday night into Thanksgiving but it tracks north of Sioux Falls.
Sioux Falls Police responded to 66 crashes between seven and ten this morning. He says crash numbers dropped dramtically after more people got into work.
Officer Sam Clemens says most of the calls came between seven and eight.
Clemens says slow down and put distance between you and the car ahead of you.
